Graphical Analysis
Minimalist and stylish, Batman. Return of the Joker's (1992) advertisement captured the aesthetic essence of the Dark Knight comics. A solid platformer that was released before the Batman: Mask of the Phantasm animated movie (1993) and shares, also, some of its basic artwork.
Historical Background
These were the years of Tim Burton's rendition of the Caped Crusader, so most of the Batman products sold in other formats aspired a different tone. In video games, you had a canopy of different consoles where Batman games had been sold. Unfortunately, most of the were mediocre. Sunsoft tried to correct this by releasing a good Batman game for Genesis and then a solid, if not spectacular, product on the Game Boy.
